Our leathers:

All of our leather is either cow hide or American Bison. Most of our leathers are called “oil tanned”. The hides are often US sourced , chrome tanned in Mexico, and then finished with oils and waxes in MX or USA. They have a soft feel and the natural grain is visible, as are some flaws, color variations, and sometimes cattle ranch brand marks. When a brand mark is intact, we often build it into one of the main panels of the article to make it unique. We also use some boot leather, which is sanded on the grain side to give a soft, uniform appearance. Tote bags use a 4 oz leather (1.6mm thick), purses, duffels, and satchels use a 6 oz leather (2.4mm thick), and belts, coasters and koozies use 9 oz leather (3.6mm thick).

Our yarns:

We use three types of yarn – polyester/wool blends, acrylic/nylon blends, and cotton. Polyester/wool blends give the softest appearance and feel. The “fuzziness” of the surface can be tempered with a little spray starch. Acrylic/nylon gives a similar look and feel, but is a little less fuzzy, while cotton “macrame” style yarns are almost “rope-like”.
